What people are saying about Solar Ark Training

"Through wide-ranging research via the Internet, review of literature on sustainable living, and consultation with various missionary training organizations, I had the good   fortune of discovering Jack Dody. Jack has distilled over three decades of expertise in sustainable building practices, organic gardening, and renewable energy production in  an accessible manual that he has generously made available free of charge. Jack’s    manual is a comprehensive resource for appropriate technology, a unique  compendium full of clear explanations, helpful diagrams, and practical advice.

“But even more valuable is the hands-on seminar that Jack offers on his homestead, where he walks the student through all of the various aspects of appropriate technology treated in his manual. In step-by-step sequence, Jack offers personal instruction in all aspects of appropriate technology, pointing out its application on his ingeniously equipped homestead and on near-by construction projects that he directs.

“I benefited enormously from Jack's tutelage, and recommend him highly to any serious student of appropriate technology."

                                                                                  Allen Callahan, Boston

“The Solar Ark Training is full of hands-on, straightforward, and understandable information that does not waste effort with fluff.  Jack Dody is a capable teacher and communicator who lives with and uses each feature of the Solar Ark: energy,  water collection and conservation, food production, and waste recycling and disposal. The training material and support after the training is excellent.  If you might live or help others in difficult living conditions—don't miss this training.”

                                                                                  J.  (Asia)

“Words cannot express the benefit my wife and I received from traveling out to Rush, Colorado, and getting to see first-hand Jack and Marilou's home and how it works.Being on-site helped us see how self-sustainable living can work in real life.  Jack'steaching, training and knowledge have proved to be invaluable, especially now that we are on the field in Africa.  Jack doesn't just practice what he teaches; he andMarilou live it every day.  It was such a blessing to see how everything worked together.  Jack is very honest about what mistakes he made, how he has learned to do things better, and what he would do differently.  Having no previous experience or exposure to self-reliant living, I walked away feeling prepared to meet the needs of living in our house in Africa where we have no power much of the time, catch our rain water, grow our own food, and learn how to use renewable natural resources all around us.”

                                                                                  Doug Taylor, Uganda

“Julie and I were finishing our training at Missionary Training International in Palmer Lake, Colorado when we met Jack Dody.  He came and spoke to our group about making preparations for the field.  Some of us will be living in places where there  will be no municipal water, sewage or electricity, and limited resources from which to     build a shelter or house.  Jack gave us an opportunity to attend a training course on        appropriate technology using The Noah Project training manual.

“The Noah Project is a very useful and practical guide for those who are going tothe mission field or for anyone who wants to be a better steward of the resources God has given us.  Since Jack and Marilou live off the grid on the plains of Colorado, they really use the concepts that are in The Noah Project.

“I would encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.”
